Railway Yard —— Huai'an Port

The Heavy-duty Autonomous Vehicle (HAV) project, custom-designed by Jingwei Hirain for the Huai'an New Port Railway Yard, has been successfully implemented. Through the integrated application of HAV vehicles and the supporting Operation Management System, the project focuses on addressing key challenges in the connection between railway yards and ports, helping Huai'an New Port Railway Yard establish an intelligent demonstration hub with efficient turnover.

 

In traditional railway yard operations, container transfer relies on manual scheduling or low-speed machinery, leading to issues such as low connection efficiency, high operational costs, and fragmented resource allocation. The newly deployed HAVs feature heavy-duty transport capabilities, enabling connection between the container yard of the railway freight station and the railway loading/unloading lines, facilitating efficient transfer from the "railway yard to the terminal." The application of autonomous driving technology allows the HAV to independently plan routes and achieve precise positioning for loading and unloading in complex railway yard environments, reducing human operational errors and safety risks.

 

The supporting horizontal transport Operation Management System (OMS) further integrates the coordination between railway scheduling and HAV vehicles. Through real-time data exchange, it enables closed-loop management for "immediate transfer of railway containers upon arrival at the port," significantly reducing cargo dwell time. As the full-lifecycle technical support provider, Jingwei Hirain participated in the entire process, from R&D design and manufacturing to on-site debugging and personnel training, ensuring deep adaptation of the system to the operational standards, signal interfaces, and scheduling logic of the railway yard. This provides solid support for the "efficient transfer" operations at Huai'an New Port Railway Yard.

 

The intelligent upgrade of this project not only enhances the turnover efficiency of Huai'an New Port Railway Yard but also, through the model of "autonomous intra-port transport + intelligent connection". It offers a replicable smart solution for regional bulk cargo "railway + waterway" intermodal transport, contributing to the effective implementation of the national multimodal transport strategy in the Yangtze River Delta region.
