On August 16, 2025, the Battery Distribution and Management Unit (BDMU)—developed by HIRAIN as the lead electronic systems technology provider in collaboration with Geely Auto and precision manufacturing partner JoysonQuin—achieved a major milestone with the first 10,000 units successfully produced. The BDMU seamlessly integrates the key functions of the Battery Distribution Unit (BDU) and Battery Management System (BMS), showcasing HIRAIN’s exceptional expertise and efficient project execution in new energy vehicle electronics. This breakthrough technology is setting new industry benchmarks for electric vehicle power management systems.

As a key supporting product for Geely’s CMA platform architecture, the Battery Distribution and Management Unit (BDMU) serves multiple mainstream Geely models. Its platform-based architecture accelerates R&D and iteration for new models while providing a scalable technical foundation for multi-brand electrification. HIRAIN’s BDMU achieves a “small size, large integration” design through deep BMS+BDU integration and miniaturization. With ASIL-C/D functional safety, outstanding EMC performance, and rigorous powered-and-loaded aging tests, it delivers “high reliability and long lifespan.” This core power management solution combines top-tier performance, reliability, and global compliance, enhancing overall vehicle competitiveness for Geely customers.

The success of this project showcases a model of efficient industry-chain collaboration. Geely Auto, as China’s leader in platform-based new energy vehicle technology, drew on its extensive CMA deployment experience to provide the BDMU with highly complex, full-domain application scenarios and million-unit mass production demands. Geely also took deep leadership in breaking down functional safety targets, conducting vehicle-level testing, and defining the user-experience closed loop, driving continuous breakthroughs in system integration innovation.
JoysonQuin, as HIRAIN’s close manufacturing partner, leveraged its precision-production expertise to ensure world-class quality. Meanwhile, HIRAIN applied its strong foundation in electronic systems R&D and BMS core technologies to take on Tier-1 responsibilities, including hardware and software development, implementation of information security and functional safety, and system integration verification. This “leading automaker + leading electronic systems technology company + major parts supplier” model not only shortens development cycles and reduces customer costs through modular design, but also provides a replicable blueprint for collaborative innovation across the industry.

With the first 10,000 BDMUs successfully rolled out, the system is set to be rapidly deployed across multiple Geely models. Its high reliability and adaptability to full-scenario applications not only enhance electric vehicle safety and driving range but also accelerate the industry’s transition toward “high-density, integrated, and intelligent” solutions. As new energy vehicle adoption gains momentum, HIRAIN will continue to drive mass-production delivery, helping partners overcome power management bottlenecks, enabling safer and more efficient intelligent mobility, and working with the industry chain to establish new standard for the electric-drive era.
