Recently, the Gaogong Intelligent Vehicle Research Institute released the report titled “The Battle for the On-Board Central Brain Heats Up! Top 10 ZCU Suppliers Revealed.” HIRAIN, as a supplier of independently developed ZCUs, achieved an 18.07% market share—ranking first in the industry.
In recent years, China’s automotive industry has been accelerating its intelligent transformation, shifting from a “distributed” vehicle E/E architecture to a “Centralized 3.0” model. After domain integration, the traditional architecture—once composed of hundreds of ECUs—has quickly evolved into a central computing + zonal control framework. Today, most OEMs are using a central High-Performance Computer (HPC) along with 2–4 ZCUs in their next-generation multi-domain computing architecture to integrate the majority of ECU functions. As a core component of the vehicle’s “neural center,” the Zonal Control Unit is rapidly replacing traditional distributed ECUs. Backed by forward-looking strategic planning and strong technical expertise, HIRAIN has earned the long-term trust of many mainstream automakers and continues to grow its market share.

HIRAIN officially launched its first Zonal Control Unit (ZCU) in 2023—a zonal control product that integrates all body-domain control functions within a next-generation architecture. It was first successfully mass-produced in vehicle models from Xiaomi, Geely, and others, establishing HIRAIN as a frontrunner from technological innovation to commercial implementation in the ZCU field.
HIRAIN’s ZCU features fully independent intellectual property rights and integrates I/O functions for body comfort, powertrain, and HVAC thermal management, along with full-vehicle power distribution (both primary and secondary levels), placing it at a leading level domestically. It incorporates multiple mechatronic algorithms for comfort control and power protection, supports seamless A/B partition OTA updates, and reserves CPU computing power and Ethernet resources to enable third-party software and SOME/IP service deployment. The system meets high safety standards, with functional safety compliant with ASIL B/D requirements.

Looking ahead, HIRAIN will continue to uphold the philosophy of “value-driven innovation and customer service,” remain committed to independent innovation, and consistently pursue excellence in delivering higher-quality products and services to its customers. We also look forward to working hand in hand with more partners to jointly promote industry development and progress, contributing to the future of the automotive sector.
