Recently, the Gaogong Intelligent Vehicle Research Institute released “The Battle for the On-Board Central Brain Heats Up! Top 10 ZCU Suppliers Revealed,” and HIRAIN, as an independently developed ZCU supplier, secured an 18.07 % market share, ranking first in the industry.
In recent years, China’s automotive industry has accelerated its intelligent transformation, leaping from a “distributed” vehicle E/E architecture to a “Centralized 3.0” model. After domain consolidation, the traditional distributed architecture—once composed of hundreds of ECUs—has rapidly evolved into an era of central computing plus zonal control. Today, most OEMs deploy a High-Performance Computer (HPC) plus 2–4 ZCUs in their next-generation multi-domain computing architectures to integrate the majority of vehicle ECU functions. As the critical component in the vehicle’s “neural center,” the ZCU is replacing traditional distributed ECUs at an astonishing pace. Thanks to its foresighted strategic layout and deep technical reserves, HIRAIN has earned the long-term trust and cooperation of numerous mainstream automakers, continuously growing its market share.

In 2023, HIRAIN officially launched its first Zonal Control Unit (ZCU), a zonal control product that integrates all body-domain control functions on a next-generation architecture. It was first mass-produced on models from Xiaomi, Geely and others, marking HIRAIN’s comprehensive leadership from technological innovation to commercial deployment in the ZCU field!
HIRAIN’s ZCU, with fully independent intellectual property rights, integrates I/O for vehicle body comfort, powertrain, and HVAC thermal management functions, and incorporates whole-vehicle power distribution (primary and secondary), achieving a domestically advanced level. It features multiple mechatronic algorithms for body comfort control and power-distribution protection, supports seamless A/B-partition OTA updates, and reserves CPU compute power and Ethernet bandwidth for third-party software and SOME/IP service deployment. With a high safety rating, its system functional safety meets ASIL B/D requirements.

Looking ahead, HIRAIN will continue to uphold the philosophy of “value innovation, serving customers,” persist in independent innovation, and relentlessly pursue excellence to provide customers with ever higher-quality products and services. We also look forward to partnering with more industry leaders to jointly drive sector development and progress, contributing our share to the advancement of the automotive industry!
