HIRAIN’s Zonal Control Unit Mass Production Reaches One Million-Unit Milestone

On July 28, 2025, HIRAIN’s one-millionth Zonal Control Unit (ZCU) officially rolled off production line.
As smart vehicles advance toward electrification and intelligence, traditional vehicle architectures are no longer able to keep pace with rapid technological evolution. Advanced smart vehicles have adopted a brand-new SOA (Service-Oriented Architecture), under which Zonal Control Units have become the most important integrated and intelligent modules. As a leader in the design and production of such products, HIRAIN has successfully mass-produced and delivered one million units, ranking first in market share in the domestic market.
The Zonal Control Unit is a groundbreaking innovation under SOA-based smart vehicle platforms. Unlike traditional domain controllers that are organized by function, the ZCU is structured around the vehicle’s physical zones. It combines signal acquisition, load control, electronic fusing, and zonal gateway capabilities into a single compact module—streamlining wiring and maximizing integration. As such, it has become a benchmark component in modern intelligent vehicles.
HIRAIN introduced its first ZCU in 2023, consolidating all body domain control functions into a next-generation architecture. The product was successfully deployed in mass production for vehicles from brands such as Xiaomi and Geely—solidifying HIRAIN’s leadership in both technological development and commercial implementation in the ZCU sector.
HIRAIN’s ZCU features fully independent intellectual property and leads the domestic market in technological capabilities:
· Highly Integrated: Combines I/O for comfort systems, power distribution, and thermal management, along with primary and secondary vehicle-level power control.
· Smart Algorithms: Embedded with advanced mechatronic algorithms for comfort control and power protection.
· Advanced OTA: Supports seamless A/B partition over-the-air updates.
· Scalable Platform: Equipped with surplus CPU capacity and Ethernet bandwidth to support third-party software and SOME/IP services.
· Functional Safety: Designed to meet ASIL B/D safety standards.
