Tangshan Port
Since 2018, Jingwei Hirain has collaborated with Tangshan Port Group to advance port intelligentization, conducting continuous technological research and engineering applications in the field of unmanned transportation. The achievements cover multiple directions such as unmanned container trucks, autonomous driving transportation of ore bulk cargo, Heavy-duty Autonomous Vehicle (HAV), and Operation Management Systems (OMS/FMS/SVM). Multiple technological breakthroughs and demonstration project results have been achieved, which have gained authoritative recognition in the industry.
I. Unmanned Truck Project: Initiation and Pilot Operation
In November 2018, Jingwei Hirain, in collaboration with other entities, assisted Tangshan Port Group in officially launching the Unmanned Truck Project. Leveraging 5G network technology, the project enabled multiple functional applications including remote driving, high-definition video transmission, precise docking, and platooning. In December of the same year, Tangshan Port successfully implemented a mixed-operation mode involving unmanned trucks (with safety officers onboard) and manned trucks, marking an initial breakthrough in the intelligent operation of ports.
II. Ore Terminal AGV: R&D and Full-Process Validation
In February 2021, Jingwei Hirain further deepened its cooperation with Tangshan Jingtang Port and launched the autonomous driving transportation project for bulk ore, dedicated to the research and development of autonomous guided vehicles (AGVs) for bulk ore and the fleet management system. This project encompasses the full-process testing and validation of the AGV autonomous driving system, including key operational functions such as driving, obstacle avoidance, parking, and unloading.
III. Container Terminals: Intelligent Transformation and Efficient Delivery
Building on the solid foundation established through its previous successful collaboration with Tangshan Port Group, Jingwei Hirain secured a major domestic procurement order for an unmanned truck fleet at Tangshan Port in May 2023. Demonstrating exceptional efficiency, the company completed the entire process from contract award to delivery within three months.
The project has successfully delivered 22 Heavy-duty Autonomous Vehicles (HAVs) along with a supporting Operation Management System (OMS), all of which have now entered regular operational phase. This achievement underscores Jingwei Hirain’s robust turnkey capabilities and exceptional delivery efficiency in the field of smart port solutions.
IV. Achievement Recognition: Awards
Over the years of in-depth collaboration with Tangshan Port Group, Jingwei Hirain has also garnered several awards. In November 2020, the project "Research and Application of Key Technologies for Unmanned Container Trucks in Automated Container Terminals," jointly carried out by Jingwei Hirain, Tangshan Port Group, and other companies, was awarded the Second Prize of the 2020 Science and Technology Progress Award by the China Port Association.
