Zonal Control Unit (ZCU)

The Zonal Control Unit (ZCU) manages intelligent power distribution for sensors and actuators, gateway routing, signal acquisition, and actuator control within vehicle zones. By centralizing these functions, the ZCU reduces the need for extensive wiring and multiple ECUs, making it a competitive space for manufacturers.

HiRain’s ZCU, based on the main OEM architecture in China, can be deployed in 3-4 locations throughout the vehicle—front cabin, left cabin, right cabin, and rear cabin. Each ZCU is designed for specific functions, including primary and secondary power distribution, signal acquisition, and load driving for comfort and thermal management controls.
