On September 2, the European New Car Assessment Programme (Euro NCAP) released its latest safety assessment results under the 2026 protocol. Among the four models announced in this round, two Chinese models — the Geely E2 and the Leapmotor B05 — achieved five-star safety ratings. Both are equipped with the Intelligent Front Camera (IFC) system developed by Hirain Technologies. For the newly added test scenarios involving irregularly positioned vehicles and ±25% small-overlap offsets, the system introduces a new 3D object detection model, resolving the common issue in conventional ADAS systems of misclassifying irregular vehicles — such as overturned or diagonally parked vehicles — as background obstacles.
