Recently, Hirain Technologies' integrated intelligent yard crane control system, based on a centralized high-performance computing platform, successfully passed trial production validation and was officially delivered at Jingtang Port. This marks a critical leap for Hirain in the field of vertical container handling intelligence, transitioning from "R&D validation" to "production operations." Following the mature implementation of L4 horizontal transportation solutions in ports, the successful application of this intelligent yard crane system represents a significant breakthrough in vertical handling operations. Consequently, the company has now established a comprehensive intelligent capability system covering the entire yard process.
Hirain's "L4 Horizontal Transportation + Intelligent Yard Crane" dual-wheel drive architecture has officially taken shape, laying a solid foundation for a full-stack intelligent terminal solution. Addressing industry pain points head-on, this centralized architecture achieves cost reduction and efficiency improvement. Traditional automated yard cranes commonly adopt a distributed architecture, where subsystems are configured with independent controllers, and a single function often relies on multiple devices. The integration of components from multiple vendors leads to complex system coupling, numerous potential failure points, and low coordination efficiency. Furthermore, the large number of devices, variety of spare parts, and heavy workload for commissioning and maintenance result in high lifecycle costs, making it difficult to meet the practical demands of ports for high efficiency, low cost, and large-scale adoption.
Leveraging its accumulated expertise in port L4 intelligent driving technology, Hirain has developed a fully in-house developed, centralized Automatic Crane Control System (ACCS). This system integrates perception, decision-making, and safety protection functions under unified scheduling and centralized computing, effectively replacing the disparate, multi-device, multi-controller solutions. This approach reduces hardware count, simplifies deployment, and lowers overall lifecycle maintenance costs. All functions have been rigorously tested in the production environment, demonstrating responsive actions, precise maneuvers, and stable operation, while establishing a comprehensive active safety protection system.
▎Core In-house Products:
- ACCS Controller: Developed based on Hirain's automotive-grade high-performance computing platform, meeting ASIL-D functional safety requirements, ensuring high reliability and computational redundancy.
- Remote Operation Station (ROS): Integrates fully self-developed modules including RCS, CCTV, and DATAVIEW. Supports touch operation, embeds multiple safety protection mechanisms, enables 7x24-hour uninterrupted operation, and features standardized communication interfaces for rapid adaptation.
- CPS System: Covers all truck types for automated truck handling operations, including guidance for both unmanned and manned trucks. Incorporates multiple safety assurances such as protection against the spreader hitting the truck cab and the container hitting the truck cab.
- Industrial Cameras: Encompasses various product forms including spreader cameras and bullet cameras. Utilizes automotive-grade modules, supports multi-stream pulling with end-to-end latency ≤200ms. Features an IP66 protection rating and WF2 corrosion resistance level, meeting the demands of long-term use in harsh port environments.

▎Centralized Computing Architecture:
The fully in-house developed, centrally deployed ACCS integrates safety protection modules. Unlike traditional automation retrofits involving disparate integration of modules from multiple vendors, this model achieves unified scheduling and decision-making for all functions.
Utilizing a centralized high-performance server, the system centralizes the computation of various safety functions, including 3D anti-collision between containers (preventing "bowling" effect during handling), gantry crane collision avoidance, protection against the spreader hitting the truck cab, prevention of lifting trucks with the container, detection of unlocked chassis twist locks, and detection of open container doors.
▎System Compatibility:
Hirain's intelligent yard crane control system and remote operation station demonstrate cross-vendor compatibility, capable of flexibly interfacing with intelligent rail-mounted gantry cranes and remote operation station equipment from different brands. In the Jingtang Port project, the system successfully integrated equipment from three different manufacturers, including Hirain, achieving multi-to-multi collaborative deployment. From design to implementation, the project took only 30 days, fully validating the system's high compatibility and rapid delivery capability.
▎Intelligent O&M Support:
The AI O&M Assistant, deployed as a lightweight Chatbot, provides 7x24 uninterrupted service. Its core functions cover two main scenarios: fault diagnosis guidance and operational data inquiry. Leveraging RAG technology, O&M personnel can input fault phenomena to quickly generate diagnostic suggestions. Through keyword search, they can obtain visualized operational data results. The system features a natural language interaction design for convenient operation and efficient response, aiming to provide intelligent support for production O&M and reinforce stable system operation.

During the trial production validation phase, all functions of Hirain's intelligent yard crane control system successfully passed validation under extreme operating conditions. The safety functions cover the requirements of the entire automated operation process. Feedback from the customer site stated: "The system's stability, safety, and intelligence level have reached the standards of mainstream automated yard cranes, demonstrating good replicability and promotion value." Within 72 hours of Hirain completing the acceptance of the first unit, the second intelligent yard crane also passed acceptance—fully demonstrating that Hirain's intelligent yard crane system has achieved standardized and engineered delivery capabilities.

In the future, Hirain will continue to deepen the integration of horizontal transportation and vertical handling, contributing to the industry's high-quality intelligent transformation with its full-stack smart port solutions.
