Hirain Contributes to FAW Jiefang's Acquisition of ISO 21448 Proactive Safety Process Certification

发布时间:2025-01-09 09:57

Recently, the proactive safety development project between Hirain and FAW Jiefang has been successfully concluded. The project has passed the audit of the international certification body DEKRA and has been awarded the ISO 21448 process system certificate. The attainment of this certificate not only signifies a significant advancement for FAW Jiefang in the field of proactive safety but also lays a solid foundation for the safety of autonomous driving products.

The ISO 21448 Proactive Safety standard aims to address hazards and risks caused by insufficiencies in functionality or reasonably foreseeable misuse by individuals. These hazards do not stem from functional failures but are due to inadequate system capabilities or reasonable human misuse. This standard, when applied in conjunction with the ISO 26262 functional safety standard and the ISO/SAE 21434 cybersecurity standard, collectively ensures the safe development of autonomous driving products and enhances their safety levels.

During the project's execution, Hirain's functional safety team worked closely with FAW Jiefang to establish the process. Based on the LKA function, they carried out exemplar development, implementing and grounding the process, thus preparing technically for future project breakthroughs. Through the conduct of this project, FAW Jiefang has deeply integrated ISO 21448 with the company's existing ISO 26262 functional safety development process, forming a comprehensive corporate process system.

Established in 2008, Hirain's functional safety team is one of the earlier groups in China engaged in the study of functional safety technology. As a member of the National Standardization Technical Committee for functional safety, Hirain has participated in the formulation of national standards for functional safety and proactive safety; as a core member of the Chip Innovation Alliance, it has been involved in setting standards for the functional safety of automotive-grade autonomous chips. The team currently consists of over 80 full-time functional safety technicians, with the core team, such as the implementation group, having more than 8 years of experience. They can provide a full-stack functional safety engineering service for intelligent connected vehicle products, from safety concept development and product design to formal production.

At present, Hirain's functional safety team has developed a full-process proactive safety product development technical consulting service plan. This integrates functional safety and proactive safety activities, establishing a process system that meets dual "safety" standards. Moreover, it delves into the development activities at each stage of proactive safety, enhancing the safety and usability of autonomous driving functions from multiple perspectives, including safety analysis, data-driven approaches, and scenario development, assisting enterprises in better implementing autonomous driving technology.
