HIRAIN Participates in 2025 AIOS Symposium, Driving Domestic Foundational Software Development with Strength

Shanghai, China – The 2025 AIOS Symposium, hosted by the China Automotive Industry Association Software Branch's China Automotive Basic Software Committee (AUTOSEMO) and organized by the Shanghai Intelligent Vehicle Software Park, was recently held successfully in Shanghai. As an AUTOSEMO Executive Vice Chairman unit and A20 core member, HIRAIN was invited to attend. HIRAIN joined over 70 experts from upstream and downstream enterprises, including FAW Hongqi, Dongfeng Motor R&D Academy, Changan Automobile, SAIC Motor Passenger Vehicle, CATARC Automotive Technology Innovation Center, and Neusoft Reach, for in-depth discussions on the application and development of AIOS and RISC-V in the automotive sector.
At the symposium, Yan'an Zhao, HIRAIN foundational software expert, delivered a presentation titled "Automotive Foundational Software Practices Based on RISC-V Architecture." He shared insights on how the Classic Platform (CP) module and layered design enable tight collaboration between underlying drivers and hardware under the RISC-V architecture. The presentation also covered practical case studies of RISC-V core chips, functional safety, and extended service features. Yan'an Zhao emphasized that HIRAIN promotes technological implementation through open ecosystem collaboration, providing solid support for the widespread adoption of RISC-V.
HIRAIN's independently developed INTEWORK-EAS product series, including AUTOSAR Adaptive Platform, AUTOSAR Classic Platform, and a full-stack AUTOSAR R&D toolchain, aims to provide the industry with domestically developed foundational software solutions. A key component, EAS.OS, excels in real-time performance and functional safety characteristics, meeting the demands of complex modern automotive electronic application scenarios.

Currently, HIRAIN's EAS.OS has been successfully adapted to various cores including PowerPC, ARM, TriCore, RH850, ARC, and notably RISC-V. Supporting over 80 chip models, HIRAIN has leveraged its forward-looking technological strategy and profound R&D capabilities to implement AUTOSAR-compliant automotive foundational software on the RISC-V architecture. The Dongfeng DF30 chip, utilizing an open-source self-developed RISC-V multi-core architecture and adapted to HIRAIN's proprietary AUTOSAR automotive OS, is already widely used in powertrain control, body/chassis systems, electronic information, and driving assistance domains. Furthermore, HIRAIN has established strategic partnerships with multiple RISC-V core suppliers like Nuclei (芯来) for software adaptation targeting OS, Hypervisor, and HSM for RISC-V cores. Moving forward, HIRAIN aims to collaborate with more chip suppliers to jointly advance the RISC-V industry through integrated hardware-software solutions.
HIRAIN's Foundational Software Solution Based on RISC-V Architecture
During the symposium, AUTOSEMO announced its initiative to formulate automotive foundational software specifications and appointed HIRAIN to lead this effort. This decision represents high recognition of HIRAIN's technical strength and industry influence in the automotive foundational software domain. Last November, HIRAIN proactively led the release of the "Automotive Foundational Software Testing Guide," making significant contributions to improving the industry's testing framework. HIRAIN will now actively consolidate resources and gather customer requirements across the industry to develop distinctive domestic foundational software specifications that better align with domestic needs.
